And that dream took root on the banks of the Delaware River, right here in New Hope, Pennsylvania.

In 1959, a 23-year-old Redford made his professional stage debut at the historic in Tiger at the Gates. Cast as Paris, Redford’s youthful charisma lit up the stage. Just four years later, he returned to star in Neil Simon’s Nobody Loves Me, which later became Barefoot in the Park—a role that launched him into stardom.
